Zone 3: Veins of the City

The ruins of the Teutonic Castle is a place where life was once vibrant. Today, although historically important, it is only a dead monument. The installation “Veins of the City” breathes life into its walls again. Organic forms that indicate growth and vitality in the natural world entwine a deserted and dead space, forcing new life into it. The glow of the veins will both illuminate the area of the ruins at night and shed light on the history of the city. It will prove that the Teutonic Castle is still alive, and the story about it should not be forgotten. The installation is an attempt to revive the ruins of the castle, bring it back to life — not only visually, but above all in the minds of the event participants. The installation was created by a group of students of the Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toruń as part of the Drawing Installations class.
