View into the Windows

"This time, we haven’t drawn the curtains or slammed the shutters. This gesture unequivocally invites you to stroll along our windows and glance inside freely. As every evening, the observed characters are absorbed in their rituals and completely indifferent to the gaze of passersby." The slightly stained-glass-like setting tells of everyday life where our time passes. Five windows of the Wozownia Art Gallery are filled with video projections. Each window features a hand-painted, multilayered material that allows for a double-sided projection. The views narrate seemingly routine stories. On one windowsill, a bored cat watches passersby, someone mindlessly scrolls their phone, others "watch" a movie together, and somewhere, a fly buzzes irritatingly. As passersby move along the street, they peek into the routine activities of the "household members." Additionally, a thin silver wire is interwoven through the gallery’s windows. The lines created by the wire interact with the video projection. The use of subtle and shiny metal properties evokes the idea of installing bars and other security measures.
