100th Anniversary of Ice Hockey in Toruń
This year, Toruń celebrates the exceptional centenary of ice hockey, commemorating the first organizational meeting held on January 4, 1924. At that time, winter sports enthusiasts established the Winter Sports Section of the Toruń Sports Club, initiating a hockey tradition that continues to this day. Over the years, Toruń’s hockey teams have been known by various names, including Gryf Toruń, Pomorzanin Toruń, and Toruński Klub Hokejowy. Currently, this tradition is continued by the Toruń Hockey Sports Company, which has been active since 2010. To mark the 100th anniversary of hockey in Toruń, a special multimedia show will take place during the upcoming festival, showcasing the history and heroes of Toruń’s hockey. The event will combine multimedia effects with captivating music, creating a spectacle that will delight both sports enthusiasts and art lovers. It’s an excellent opportunity to celebrate the rich history of ice hockey in Toruń and honor those who have shaped this sport in the city over the decades.
