Zone 1: Tree Refuge
“Tree Refuge” is a project focused on anthropomorphization of trees. Showing emotions in the form of looped animations mapped on their trunks and sounds reflecting fatigue or joy. The project aims to convey to generations how important nature is for us, which communicates with us non-verbally.
The project “Tree Refuge” was inspired by the works of artists Clement Briend and Philippe Echaroux, who by placing images from the projector on the treetops, create a uniquely large scenery that allows us to show our culture. In the works of Philippe Echaroux, photos of people living in the Amazon region are projected on the treetops. Showing their history and how cutting down this forest makes it difficult for them to live in the world that is their home. Clement Briend creates 3D characters/creatures related to our culture, such as Buddha or various gargoyles.
